Job Description:

TITLE:

Communications Coordinator
Volunteer – Unpaid

PURPOSE:

Promote the Wednesday and Saturday farmers’ markets, vendors, products, and programming as a local, accessible hub for fresh, producer-only goods. Promotions frequently highlight the food benefits matching program that align with ICFM’s mission. Donations should be solicited via social media and newsletter in support of local farmers and community members seeking healthy foods.

TIME COMMITMENT:

Approximately 4 hours per week, primarily June through October with some off-season hours. Markets take place on Saturdays from 9AM-12PM, and Wednesdays from 3:30-6PM, however 100% attendance is not required to fulfill job duties, however it is strongly encouraged.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Social Media – Facebook & Instagram, post at least 2x/week + responding to customer questions via comment and message + keeping info up-to-date
  • Email Newsletter (weekly)
  • Advertising – creative and copy (Facebook/Instagram ads and/or boosting posts, Print, and additional formats if needed)
  • Website – blogging
  • Photos – take photos of vendors, customers, products
  • Design – print materials for tabling, social posts, and ads (using Canva) 
JOB CONDITIONS:

The ICFM is a rain or shine market, meaning market-day activities take place in all weather conditions. A personal computer and access to the internet is required.

Work will take place under the guidance of the Volunteer Communications Manager and ICFM Board of Directors.
