2023 Year In Review

2023 Year In Review

Open since the year 2007, the Indiana County Farmers’ Market has seen changes in location, vendors, and offerings. Most significantly, in 2017 the Market became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so it could further its mission of improving the community’s access to healthy and affordable local foods. Since then, the Market has seen growth in numerous ways, and 2023 has been a year to celebrate:

In 2023 the Indiana County Farmers’ Market:

22 – Held 22 weeks of market in Downtown Indiana, PA

16 – Had 16 local-only vendors including produce, meat, eggs, flowers, baked goods & more

9,833 – $9,833 worth of extra fresh, local food was redeemed by community members in need using Food Bucks and Market Money

164 – Served 164 households using SNAP/EBT and numerous additional seniors and WIC recipients through the Matching Program

7,000 – Had approximately 7,000 visitors

10 – Had 10 guest vendors, artists, and community organizations visit the market for special occasions

600 – Sold over 600lbs of apples during the Annual Apple Fundraiser, raising hundreds of dollars for the Matching Program

13 – Had 13+ dedicated volunteers and board members making this magic happen!

Thank you to everyone–our visitors, volunteers, vendors, and donors–who contributed to making 2023 a success!
