There are two keys to a great salad: 1. fresh produce and 2. great dressing.
Try making these salad dressings at home and store them in the fridge for up to two weeks. They can be paired with your favorite in-season vegetables from our farmers’ market vendors. A couple of these recipes include the use of honey which can also be purchased at our farmers’ market.
Instructions for each recipe are the same: beat the ingredients together until well-mixed, or place in a jar and shake until emulsified. Then salt and pepper to taste, shaking again to mix.
Basic Salad Dressing
1 tsp brown mustard
2 1/2 Tbsp wine vinegar (white or red)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
*Add fresh herbs such as basil or thyme to this recipe for an herby flavor
Honey Lemon Dressing
1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/3 cup lemon juice (approx. 3 lemons if using fresh)
1 Tbsp honey or more to taste
Toasted Sesame Dressing
2 tsp sesame oil
2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp soy sauce
4 Tbsp rice vinegar
2 tsp freshly grated ginger
2 tsp green onions chopped finely
1 tsp honey
