FAQ

Cash, Credit/Debit Card, EBT/SNAP, FMNP –– You must visit the the market Information Booth on Saturdays to redeem tokens for card transactions.

  • Cards will be accepted at Saturday morning markets–customers will be given tokens. Tokens may be spent with participating vendors.
  • Choose your dollar amount: A volunteer will swipe your card at the Info Booth for the amount you request and give you tokens to spend at the market.
  • Fees: There are NO fees for SNAP (EBT) transactions. Credit/Debit customers are asked to make a small donation on card transactions to help us cover the cost of this service. Your support is greatly appreciated.
  • Spend your tokens like cash with participating vendors. Note: Change cannot be given for purchases made with SNAP/EBT tokens or paper vouchers.
  • Wooden Tokens do not expire. If you do not spend your market money, you can use it next week, next month, or even next season!
  • Paper vouchers do expire, so please refer to the voucher for expiration date.
  • Please arrive no later than 11:45 AM (15 minutes prior to market closing at 12:00 PM) to allow enough time for your card to be run, for you to receive tokens, and to make purchases with vendors. The market closes promptly at 12:00 PM.

While we hope that many shoppers will take advantage of this system, please remember that cash (especially in small bills) is still the preferred payment method for many of our market vendors!

*Note: A number of vendors also accept credit/debit cards on their own, however EBT/SNAP must be run at the booth...plus you may get Food Bucks & Market Money!

Very! To sell at the Indiana Farmer's Market, a vendor must produce their goods in Indiana County or an immediately adjacent county...you cannot get much more LOCAL than that!

The market originally started in the 1970s and lasted until the late 1990s. The market was successfully reinstated in 2007. In the year 2017, the ICFM officially became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to further its mission.

YES! We are proud to say that we are a Producer-Only market.

The vendors who sell you goods are the folks who grow, raise, and make those goods. Vendors are not permitted to re-sell items.

Pets should remain outside of tent areas–please do not allow them to come into contact with food. Please be mindful that other patrons may not want to interact with your pet. Keep pets on a tight leash or tied up outside of the market area. Service animals are permitted at the market.

PA Department of Agriculture regulations state that no pets are permitted at the market.

Most vendors will provide shopping bags with the purchase of goods, however, we strongly encourage all shoppers to BYOBags! It cuts down on disposables and saves on costs for our small businesses.
