Creating Simple Saturday Traditions

Creating Simple Saturday Traditions

A family favorite tradition will soon be returning in just a couple of weeks- the local Indiana County Farmers Market. A simple way to spend your Saturday morning creating memories, habits and building connections within the local community. Whether you are exploring the market alone, with family & friends or letting your kids discover the fresh flavors, it’s a weekly routine that should be on everyone’s summer schedule.

Start your morning off slow, no rushing. Take in the beauty of a spring + summer morning. Grab your reusable bags and your favorite coffee or tea and then head on down to walk the market and check out the local vendors! ☕

Observe what is in season and abundant from our produce growers. Notice the selection of colors available. Buy foods that you will a use, or experiment and try something new. Let the kids pick out a vegetable they’ve never tried before. There is a great selection of seasonal greens, tomatoes, sourdough bread, jams + other canned goods, fresh meats and much more. 🥕🥬🍞

Talk to the vendors and other market goers, learn about the efforts that go into growing and harvesting the food, find out what others incorporate into their meals. Enjoy community and family time that you can look forward to again every weekend throughout the rest of the spring, summer and even into the fall. But best of all- buy + support local!
