Starting September 6th you can find local apples at our market! Visit John-Paul’s Farm‘s tent at the market to find Ginger Gold, JonaMac, Gala, JonaGold, Fuji, Honey Crisp, or Cameo apples sourced from Steffenino Orchard throughout the season. Available varieties depend on the week’s harvest.
We are hosting an Apple Fundraiser featuring locally grown apples by Steffenino Orchard and distributed by our full time vendor John-Paul’s Farm. What is an “Apple Fundraiser”? All profits from apple purchases will go directly to our market’s SNAP Matching Program. The Matching Program supports community members facing food insecurity access more healthy foods. When folks make market purchases using SNAP/EBT, the Indiana County Farmers’ Market provides free matching dollars in Food Bucks and Market Money so that those customers can increase their buying power. It’s a great program!
In order to fulfill the needs of our community, our market needs to raise thousands of dollars each year for this program–the Apple Fundraiser will assist with that. Additionally, we will be accepting monetary donations throughout the fall to further our fundraising goals.
