Let’s get healthy! “Health” can mean many things–here at the market, we consider access to and affordability of fresh food an important component of wellness. Join us and our community partners to learn more about accessing nutritious food for you and your family!
August 16 Community Health Day will feature:
Adagio Health with Veteran Vouchers – Have you or has anyone in your household served in the military? You can receive up to $10 in Veteran Vouchers to purchase locally-sourced produce. These vouchers can ONLY be used at the Indiana County Farmers’ Market for fresh fruits and vegetables on certain days until allocated funds are depleted.
Penn State Extension’s Master Gardners – Pressure gauge testing with Elizabeth Kocsis, PSU Ext Educator. It’s FREE and takes only a few minutes. If you use a dial gauge pressure canner to preserve food, you should test it every year to ensure accuracy and safe processing. For testing, bring only the lid from your dial gauge pressure canner. Penn State Extension’s Let’s Preserve materials will be available at no charge.
Registered Dietitian from IRMC’s Institute for Healthy Living – Recipe sampling including: Nutritional benefits of the recipe, Fiber, Protein, Antioxidants & Polyphenols, Weight management AND Back to School Meal Prep Ideas!

As always, the Info Booth will be open to match SNAP/EBT and WIC & Senior FMNP vouchers with special funds so you can bring home more fresh food…up to $20 per market visit. The Farmers’ Market takes place every Saturday.
