2024 Year in Review

Open since the year 2007, the Indiana County Farmers’ Market has seen changes in location, vendors, and offerings. Most significantly, in 2017 the Market became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so it could further its mission of improving the community’s access to healthy and affordable local foods. Since then, the Market has seen growth in numerous ways, and 2024 has been a year to celebrate!

In 2024 the Indiana County Farmers’ Market:

$11,714 worth of extra fresh, local food was redeemed by community members in need using Food Bucks and Market Money. The Matching Program supports low income residents who utilize SNAP and the WIC & Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Programs.

Had over 5,000 visitors from across the county and beyond

Sold over 750 lbs of apples during the Annual Apple Fundraiser, raising $885.50 for the Matching Program

Served 472 households using SNAP/EBT, plus Farmers Market Nutrition Program recipients (Seniors and WIC families) through the Matching Program

77 Veteran households received over $1500 worth of produce vouchers from Adagio Health to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables at the farmers market.

Held 22 weeks of market in Downtown Indiana, PA, bringing folks in to patronize a network of mobile vendors and brick & mortars

Supported 19 local vendors including vegetable, meat, egg, flower, baked good producers & more!

Had 17 guest vendors including artists, musicians/DJs, and community organizations at the market for Community Health Days, Kids Day, and more.

Hosted a space for small businesses that provide over a dozen full-time-equivalent jobs. These businesses generated over an estimated $175,000 in revenue through the Indiana Market alone.

Had 10+ dedicated volunteers and volunteer board members making this magic happen!
